yes sir, this has and will continue to become a major problem for all householders soon. the original design of rainwater guttering was calculated on our average rainfall to roof area and as we are all well aware , the increase of intensity of downpour due to whatever climate causes will require a rethink of that calculation. we are basically advising all our clients and enquiries, when rof and gutter work is being planned to upgrade the dimension of all rainwater capabilities. increase the widths of perimeter gutters and with deep profile if possible, include for wider girth if internals which can be of exception importance due to thier location with the living space and subsequent damaging effects.
also whilst on the subject we tend to combine this with a specification for saving/storage for thoses extended draught periods, with either a very basic linked series of rain butts or a more involved pumped holding tank , rather like your sewerage/clargester type system. call us for a conversation j.t.
